Anbernic devices seems to have a lot of problems lately when it comes to hybrid WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode type of connection. It does not do well at all with WPA3
Of course, I would never recommend lowering security for any device ever, but did you try enabling wpa2 only see if it helps?
