Device hanging on boot when trying HDMI

For my setup I am plugging in HDMI while the device is off - then turning device on. muOS splash screen comes up on the device, then switches over to the TV screen, but just hangs - will let it sit for several minutes and it just hangs. My device will work on HDMI using the stock OS so I know its not a hardware issue. I also tried with sd2 removed just incase there was something funky going on with that but same behavior

I am on cubeXX on pixie patch 2. Here are the individual logs for my last boot attempt:

I was able to get this working by setting the HDMI output to 720p+60Hz
