Hello, randomly when I power on my device and let it auto load my last game, the volume will be maxed out or at a different level than when I shut it down. I normally play with sound off at night, so when I open up the game the following day and get blasted with sound… well, I wake up pretty fast!
Sometimes the volume down button won’t work here and instead I need to volume up to have it go quiet.

One thing I’ve noticed is when this happens, it is also likely that retroarch will not auto load my save state and I have to go in and manually load it. The auto save performed, but whatever is in charge of auto loading isn’t working when the setting is on.
I’ve had my volume on boot be completely maxed out on my 34XXSP as well. It doesn’t happen on every boot, and I’m not sure exactly how to reproduce it. It can occur regardless of whether the volume on boot setting set to “Previous” or “Silent”.
I’ve also noticed the same behavior as the original poster, where I had to press the volume up button to get the volume to start going down again.
Since I don’t want to jumpscare myself or others in public, I’ve stopped using the Resume on boot setting and instead going straight to History so I can do a quick volume check after every boot.
I’ve done similar, it now just goes into the Explorer instead of booting the last game cause I got tired of my device scaring me lmao.
