Hi! I wanted to help the community but my skills are a bit too limited, so I made what I could, some custom UI sound packs.
If you’re a theme creator feel free to use them (just include the “Credits.txt” file). And if you’d like, I could help you make a custom pack for your theme, just let me know!
Description of the sound packs
I made every sound muOS allows (refer to Theme Structure | MustardOS ). Which includes all the UI and some short music for startup / shutdown / reboot.
2000sTech
This pack was inspired by UIs from the 2000s. Ethereal sounds, futuristic, but not imitating any particular one.
It includes background music (in .ogg format) for adding to the vibe. This background music needs to be added to …/MUOS/music.
GB
Obviously going for the GB aesthetic. For authenticity I used Little Sound Dj running on SameBoy, so the sounds are as close to a real GB as I can get them with the tools I have.
HeavySynths
I made this one as practice, with no intention of sharing it. I don’t think it goes well with any theme, but it’s done and someone may like it.
Minimal
Made with the goal of getting a modern minimal vibe. Very non-intrusive, but with some charm in the power on and off sounds.
How to install
Go to this link: muOS sounds – Google Drive .
Download the .wav files of the pack you want.
Place them in mnt/mmc/MUOS/theme/ <theme you want to modify> /sound.
Make sure Navigation Sound is set to “Theme”. You find it in: Configuration > Customization > Navigation Sound. You’ll also find the option to enable background music there.
You may want to backup the original sound files, or even duplicate the full theme folder and only modify the copy to make it easy to go back in case you don’t like the results.
