muOS G10 mod (stick retro game ported theme)

Here is my last muOS theme : [Pixie] muOS G10 mod (game stick theme port)

Please update the image names in your assets.muxzip file to match our catalogue folder names. This will allow your theme to work on user devices regardless of their folder names and will help decrease support issues for us.

It’s the same name i use on all my theme, there is a new catalogue list name ?
If possibl, tell me what name i need to change please…

the muOS catalogue names have not changed. you’ve been naming them to match your folder names but they should be named the same as the folders /MUOS/info/catalogue. you have your files named like md.png instead of Sega Mega Drive - Genesis.png. which means it will only work if users have their folder name md but if you name it Sega Mega Drive - Genesis.png it will work as long as they have a Genesis core assigned to the folder.

According to the file folder.json in muos/info/name, there is 2 name for the md.png

  • “md”: “SEGA Megadrive”
  • “genesis”: “SEGA Genesis”
And i have 2 folder with the correct name on my rom list : MD & GENESIS and it’s the same and the only way we use on the muOS system since a long time and all of us, we use that…
Atari 2600.png is at2600

im surprice why on muos.dev it’s Atari 2600.png and not at2600…

That is the friendly file name scheme. That is not the catalogue name scheme.

Now im lost, why i need to rename my catalogue file to Sega Mega Drive - Genesis.png if the md.png or genesis.png work on all system ? and my theme have no Grid image…

it doesn’t work with md.png and genesis.png because not all users name their folder md and genesis.

muOS looks for images 2 ways:

  1. looks for a grid image that matches the folder name like in your example where the folder name is md it will look for md.png
  2. looks for a grid image that matches the catalogue folder name from /MUOS/info/catalogue

It is better to use option 2 because regardless of how a user names their folders it will find the grid image as long as they have assigned the core to that folder.

Take a look at the at the existing grid themes on the theme website for examples.

Ok thanks for the typo…

And one thing, Sega Mega Drive - Genesis have 2 model, Mega Drive and Genesis, how to use these 2 model in 2 folder ?

Just keep your md.png and genesis.png files but also copy one of them and rename it to match the catalogue folder name ‘Sega Mega Drive - Genesis.png’
