I desperately need help, I’m really confused here, but im trying to add all the missing cores that I need to run my games but I can’t seem to work it out, I’ve tried to download the archive install version and they don’t show up when selecting a core, I’ve tried downloading them from the menu and it doesn’t work even though I’m connected to my Internet.

I’ve no idea how this works and I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find any tutorial on how to do this. So basically my device is just a brick at the moment. Can someone please help me?

> For the moment, users with issues with the core downloader will have to manually download them from this exact link: [Release Release - 2026-05-04 01:37:09 · MustardOS/extra · GitHub](https://github.com/MustardOS/extra/releases/tag/release-20260504-013709) Download the .muxzip file for what you want to install, move that file to the ARCHIVE folder on either sd1 or sd2, and inside MustardOS go to Applications\>Archive Manager, select the core file and install with A.

Download the core files from that exact link, not from the latest releaes on github.

Just the extra installed cores are not being shown, or there are no cores being shown when you try to assign a core?

Edit: all bundled cores are working fine on a fresh flash of funky jacaranda here, and downloading a bunch of core archives from that exact link, putting them in the archive folder in my sd card, installing via archive manager, made them all available at the assign core menu.

I’m pretty sure there’s something wrong with your setup, like a bad flash, a bad/fake sd card, a corrupt download of the muOS image, something like that, that is preventing this stuff to work for you.

Or, there’s a chance you misunderstood how assigning a core and related stuff works.

I would suggest you check the hash of the image you downloaded, try a reflash with the raspberry imager, and if possible a different, knowing to work, sd card.
You can also test you card with something like F3 or h2testw.

I’ve just manged to sort it out, I only redownloaded the ones that didn’t work, I followed your new link and I’ve got it to work now, call it a blonde moment 😂 anyways up and running now and I think I’m actually done with all the editing, funny enough I had to buy a new anbernic rg40xx h, the screen had horizontal lines, it did fall off my bed though and doing some research it’s pretty common if knocked, as the screens aren’t top quality, they are cheap handhelds so I’ll have be careful in the future, but my left hand has little sensation especially my pinky finger so touch wood it doesn’t happen again.

Excited now been awhile since I’ve been able to play it, but pixie which was originally on it doesn’t work with this new handheld, I’m wondering if they’ve altered the boards or screen revisions.

But thank you so much you’ve made an old man happy. Looking forward to the next firmware, looks interesting. Will the theme structure be changed again or will it remain as it is now? Also I’m looking for a good smaller form clam shell anbernic cause i have go hospital on a regular basis and need something more portable, I was looking at the anbernic 35xx sp if that’s the right name but I see they’ve done a few more clam shell ones, which one would you recommend? Thanks again for your help

Ps: yes my memory isn’t what it was, used to be good at this sort of thing but as I mentioned I’m recovering from a stroke, getting better though, I do get my sd cards from argos as I know they are the real deal, had a few fakes from ebay over the years so eBay is a no go for most electronics or memory, hardrives, I’d sooner pay a little more.

I noticed the new upcoming firmware will have video previews, should make the menu pop, wasn’t sure if this was something that was going to go ahead, but it’s a welcome feature though. 👍
