So, i am not Sure if this is an OS issue, a User issue, Hardware or some other issue.

I have had my Rg35xx H since it launched now. Recently i wanted to switch to a more interesting OS, so i decided to get a new SD, flashed the newest Version of MuOS on it and kept the original OS-SD card.

After first startup i realized: the Sticks dont work anymore. IO test Shows they act as buttons if pressed down, but they Do not respond to directional controls. I put the old OS back in and found the same. Anbernic Support has no idea what happened and can’t help. Has anyone ever had similar issues or has an idea how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Copy and paste here the name of the image you downloaded and flashed to your card.

What does the input tester in muOS’s information menu shows?
If there is input information there, you may just be trying to use the stick in content that does not support them by default(any of the d-pad only consoles), and would need to be assigned in the emulator configs.

If there’s also no input information in the input tester, yeah, it really seems like a hardware failure.

There’s nothing software wise that lives in the console itself, it has no internal memory, everything boots from the sd card, so if it does not work on both stock and MustardOS, there’s nothing one could have done to affect the other, and there’s probably something hardware related going on.

It is interesting that both sticks would present the issue at the same time, but I’m clueless to why.
I also have a first batch 35xxH and it is working fine with any muOS release.

In the case you got nothing in the input test, I would try disassembling the device, and with a lot of care, unplugging the sticks ribbon cables, having some contact cleaner at it, and re-seating them.

Yeah it sounds like it’s a weird Hardware failure. The Sticks react on being pressed in an count as Buttons, however in the Input test and the Menü their directional function does not register.

I will dissassemble it tonight or tomorow and will be back with any new findings.
