I 100% love Scrappy because it’s like the first app that should be installed on MuOS
THANK YOU FOR CREATING AND MAINTAINING IT!!!
opensource for life! information wants to be free!
if I could have 1 place for improvement it would be:
when I add PORTS folder it just casually hangs when it starts to try scrape that, not a big problem tho since most of them have images on muos from portmaster, but IT WOULD BE AWESOME to have ability to re-downoload them ports images from portmaster in my RGCubeXX dithered 720x720 format which I use
so i tried scrappy, it wont do EASYRPG, FDS, Atari 800, or SCUMVM. supported extensions and core assigned to directory. says “No platforms to scrape”. My FDS roms are zipped and end in .fds. My EasyRPg are zipped folder full or game data. Atari 800 is zipped .bin files. MY Scummvm file is think I found the issue, i’d have to make the .scummvm files for them.
Hi, PS1 games with .PBP extension are not being scraped by the ‘Scrape all systems’ button and I end up having to manually scrape each game. Please fix
If scrappy complains that there is nothing selected, and the settings screen (select button) all is checked.
Just go to the config.ini and change the sd value. In my case with all my stuff on the second sdcard i put sd = 2 and it is now running.
Is there any way to switch off the screen while scrapping? because i guess on sleep it wont work at all?
Hi! thank you so much for this app. just got the RG35xx sp a few days ago, and this is such a blessing.
I just wanna mention a bug/issue I encountered. So, I have about 4000 ish roms on my sd card, and when i started scrappiing all of them it got to around 2010 roms and then stopped. It was still in the scrapping window but it wasn’t advancing. I noticed when I exited and tried again with just one folder that my login credentials were reset on the skyscraper file. so I had to go in and type my account and password again.
Idk why this happened, but I figured not many people are scrapping 4k + roms at once.
I did my scraping on pc, and am now trying to import the data on the device’s side. Scraping roms in subfolders from the web seems to work as long as cores are assigned to said subfolders, but has anybody gotten custom data import to cache from subfolders to work? Eg. /SD1/MUOS/application/Scrappy/.scrappy/static/.skyscraper/import/pcengine/covers/All but the Best (TurboGrafx-16)/romname.png
Importing data from a base platform folder has it figuring things out and importing the images just fine:

I guess because this instance of skyscraper isn’t populating the metadata (gamelist?), the import doesn’t actually get as far as doing anything with the images.
As far as I can tell I have things all matched up, the subfolder platforms have even assigned themselves in .scrappy/config.ini, and I guess I could just web scrape the subfolders if I really had to, but at this point I’m just trying to figure out if there’s something else I’m missing to use the files that I already have.
Edit: flattening the import folder structure to just the platforms seems to work. The romname.png image name itself just has to match with the romname.zip, whether the zip is in a subfolder doesn’t appear to matter.
Hi, everyone!
How can I delete cover for portmaster game downloaded by scrappy and return image from port folder?
Scrappy identified va-11 hall-a as some game with name Valhalla and applied its cover instead of correct.
How can I undo scrapping for specific game? Exactly a port game, because for all other platforms I can just delete cover file in info/catalogue
In PortMaster go to Manage Ports and you can re-install the port to fix your issue. It shouldn’t affect saves but can’t confirm 100%
To avoid that you can de-select portmaster from the scraping.
You might need to dive into your Scrappy config and custom set the folders to the correct platform. Usually if you have a core assigned to the directory Scrappy will pick them up though.
