[2508.3][RG Cube XX] WiFi disconnects immediately

Expected Behaviour

Device stays on WiFi after connecting

Actual Behaviour

Device appears to connect to WiFi, and IP address is shown and the Wifi icon changes. When backing out of the menu, the WiFi icon changes back to disconnected. Re-entering the network menu shows the WiFi is disconnected.

Steps to recreate

Attempt to connect to WiFi and use the device

Attempted fixes

  • Restarted device
  • Deleted WiFi profiles
  • Haven’t attempted a re-flash, as this happened immediately after upgrading.

Happy to provide logs (if I know where to look) and any other info.

Next time this happens, go into info>network information and check if you have a mac address. I have a feeling your network module may not be loading correctly

MAC address is indeed showing as ‘Unknown’.

Are there any steps I can take to rectify this beyond trying a reflash?

I also experienced this on TrimUI Smart Pro, and it also seems to take a long time to connect, but that may be unrealated. Rebooting can fix the disconnecting issue temporarily but not for long. Are there networking logs we can check?

After patching to Loose Goose this appears to be resolved. Chances are a reflash would sort it. No practical solution exists though beyond that.
