I want to play NES without the 4:3 stretching because I play on CubeXX, so I try and change the aspect ratio from core settings, but nothing changes.
Specifying a core doesn’t matter because I tried them all, same thing (same goes the same for every other system I belive).
I did find a workarround by messing with scaling in video settings, but that shouldn’t really be a solution.
I also wanna send pics of the issue, but I can only post gifs in this forum ig (might be because I’m writing from mobile) so bare with me
Typically this is where RetroArch can get quite confusing.
Most of the audio and video settings within the core are only changed when you save specifically as a file, core, or directory, override.
Ensure that you have the settings you want, save overrides, close content and reopen.
If you are changing global video settings specifically (perhaps if the core has no aspect ratio function) you can still save as overrides as per above.
sorry for a very late reply. Here’s an imgur post that I made https://imgur.com/a/TUVQJEE
You can see that every aspect is 4:3 no matter what. Tried it out once again to make sure, still an issue
