Clone SD to a different SD?

Hey,

I am trying to set up 2 devices and thought I could just clone my SD to a different one, but it ends up not bootable. What made things worse, the second SD had slightly less sectors so I had to reduce the size of the ROMS partition inside the image.

Is there a proper way to do this? What actually might be the problem here?

Flash mSD cards, use backup system to create archives. Install created archives on secondary device. Install content manually.
