For fans of FULL-SCREEN box art on the Aurora Theme (640x480), check out my custom mask template!
Big thanks to Rosabel for creating such a stunning aesthetic theme. Its new layout inspired me to craft box art for my games.
I wasn’t a fan of scraped screenshots — often unrepresentative or visually off. So, I carefully pick screenshots for an immersive feel, skipping game logos or UI (if possible), while maintain the theme header and footer.
Currently, I’ve completed sets for PSX, GBA, GBC, and Arcade (for my own games). I might share other consoles later if there’s interest (still a work in progress).
Below, you’ll find the PNG template, feel free to create your own box art or play with the Scrappy app!
@md9000 this is awesome! as a noob to this kind of stuff - how would I create my own box art with your gradient template? I have a program called GIMP that seems promising but no idea how to get the right end result
Thank you! I’m not familiar with GIMP, but I create my boxset in Photoshop using masking. You can likely find GIMP tutorials online to achieve a similar result.
I’ve uploaded the PSD file for you to experiment with.
Also, for the best pixel quality, only use screenshots as PNG. You can always upscale it (usually found in 320px online) using Pixel Art Scaler if needed.
Amazing! Thank you for your your work and sharing it with us!
I’ve got a question, how do you get the names “cutoff” if it’s too long? For me he’s always showing it’s full name so it makes the names very long and overlaps the screenshot image on the right.
