Drastic-trngaje refuses to launch a game that works with drastic-legacy

So, after reflashing to latest stable muOS Silly Goose, I had some issues when launching games that didn’t occur before (even on testing builds of Silly Goose). All games would now launch into a black screen and then go back to game selection menu. After trying different things like clearing core assignments, restoring drastic configuration (which was already set to default after reflash, but it couldn’t hurt) I managed to get most of the games to start (still not sure what was wrong in the first place, but I can’t complain).

The only exception that I found is Golden Sun - Dark Dawn (USA, Australia) (En,Es). For some reason, the issue here remains. I tried checking the ROM file on PC and on my device using drastic-legacy and melonDS libretro core and it worked fine.

System version: 2508.2 SILLY GOOSE (377d3471)
Device: RG35XXSP

Had the same issue when transitioned between Pixie and Goose. In my case, unzipping the roms per dev indication solved it.

Tried it, but that still didn’t help

Huh, I added stdout and stderr stream output to a text file when launching from launch.sh to get the logs and it showed that muOS still tried to use .zip as file extension, instead of .nds. I changed the filename (added random letters to it) and now it started!

FIX: After unzipping the rom and still not being able to run it without changing the filename, I assigned another core to that rom to fix up all remaining references to the zipped file and then reverted it to drastic-trngaje. Now it works fine!
