Hi everyone,
After updating my RG35XX H to the latest system version 2601.1 Funky Jacaranda (tried first 2601.0), the HDMI output stopped working. Before the update, I was using 2502.0 Pixie and HDMI worked perfectly.
Additional detail: I performed a clean, fresh installation of the system. HDMI Integration is Enable (device settings).
I’ve tested the same HDMI cables with other devices and they work fine, so the cables aren’t the issue. The problem has been present in the last two system updates.
Has anyone found same problem and a fix for this?
Thanks!
Working fine here.
What are your hdmi settings?
And you need to turn the device on with the hdmi cable connected, at least for a number of updates now, but maybe in pixie it wasn’t the case yet?
So if you haven’t, try that.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I always connect the HDMI cable before powering on the device, so that’s not the issue. HDMI was working perfectly before the update, and the problem only appeared after installing the latest versions.
I’ve tested different HDMI cables, and I also tested those same cables on other handhelds, where they worked normally. So the cables don’t seem to be the problem.
I’m not sure which HDMI settings you’re referring to. If you mean resolution, color settings, etc., I’ve already tried all available options without success.
Could you let me know which specific settings are working for you?
Just to be sure, I tested now in several tvs and monitors here, all working fine.
Default settings
Res 480
Colour Space RGB
Depth 8
Range Full
Scan Over
Audio External
It is a card i have on funky jacaranda for the 35H just to boot and help other users, it is pretty default except for a few roms i dropped in.
I tested other resolutions as well and they are all working fine.
So it is not an issue with the system, I’m pretty sure of that. I also used HDMI with my 40xxH and 34xxH with no issues in jacaranda and funky.
There’s something at your end that is at fault. Possibly a bad/damaged hdmi conector on the device, if you tested with other adapters/cables and other monitors/tvs.
Either way, pixie is still up to download from the site, if you think the issue is the system and i’m overlooking something, you can check by installing pixie again.
Thank you very much for your help, attention, and patience in testing everything and sharing your settings.
I’ll try reinstalling Pixie and do some more testing. Since HDMI was working before, I’m hoping it’s not a physical issue with my handheld or a damaged HDMI connector.
Thanks again for taking the time to help me troubleshoot this. I really appreciate it.
I did some additional testing and reinstalled Pixie, but unfortunately HDMI still isn’t working there either.
At this point, it seems more likely that I have a physical issue with the HDMI port on my handheld.
Is there any way to check through the system whether the device is detecting that an HDMI cable is connected? Any log, menu, or diagnostic tool that could confirm whether the HDMI connection is being recognized would be very helpful.
Thanks again for all your help.
