I just started and already I seem to have made an irrecoverable error, but I didn’t have any choice, nothing else worked.
On my RG35XX-SP I launched an NES game with the NEStopia core, played it for a little while, and decided to switch games, only to find that I couldn’t. The menu button did nothing, I tried every key combination I could think of but they did nothing, I tried holding down the power button until it shut off, then turned it back on and it just resumed where I was. Desperate, I pressed the reset button - the screen went black, and nothing has worked since.
I did a bit of searching and saw people recommend re-flashing the SD card with the OS, so I did, but that didn’t work. The screen remains completely black. Absolutely nothing happens. I even tried putting the original SD card it came with in, but that did nothing. It’s completely dead.
I literally just got this console today, is it permanently bricked already? This is infuriating, how was I supposed to know this would happen? And why didn’t any button or button combinations allow me to exit the game? It feels like this was just inevitable. Am I losing my mind?
Likely, you corrupted your SD card, and now your Anbernic is stuck in FEL mode. Just press the reset button a few times with everything turned off, and then it should be able to boot normally.
These handhelds are pretty hard to kill because the OS is on the external card. Also, MuOS is pretty sensitive to being hard-reset like that, so if it locks up again, try L2 + R2 + START; Mu has a built-in safe restart.
^ This is from my issue; but corrupted SDs, incompatible os and booting without an SD card all cause this behaviour, and it’s fixed the same way.
