Help us help you to troubleshoot

Basic Info We Need to Help You

If you’re running into issues, we are here to help, however we do need a few details first. Please include the following in your issues post so we have something to work with…

What version are you running?

Include the version of muOS, RetroArch, and the emulator core with as much information as possible.

What game or content are you trying to play?

Mention the game title, region (like USA or Europe), and what file format you’re using for example, .bin, .cue, .chd, or .zip.

Do you have a working BIOS for the system?

Some systems won’t boot or work properly without the correct BIOS files in place.

Did you clear old RetroArch settings before updating?

Keeping old configs can cause weird issues after an update. Let us know if you started clean or kept your old settings.

Have you changed anything recently in RetroArch?

Even small changes, like turning on a shader or switching the video or audio drivers, can affect how things behave. Mention any changes you made before the issue started.

More Advanced Information

If you’re a bit more tech-savvy or comfortable sharing extra details, the following can really help speed things up:

Which core are you using, and what CPU governor is set?

Let us know which emulator core you’ve selected, and if your system uses CPU governors, tell us whether it’s on performance, powersave, or something else.

What storage are you using?

Are you running a single or dual setup, is the storage formatted as FAT32 or exFAT?

Can you reliably replicate the issue?

If there is a specific set of steps that cause the problem, write them out so we can try the same thing.

Any error messages or logs?

If you see an error on screen or in a log file, copy it out or attach it. Even a short snippet can give us useful clues.

Have you tested other games, cores, or settings?

Trying something else and letting us know whether that worked can help isolate the problem.
