How can I hide NAOMI data folders from appearing in the file list?

Hi, some Sega NAOMI games require a data folder with the same name as the game in the same directory to work. However, when I put the data folder in the <system> folder, it shows up in the game list. If I rename the folder by adding a dot (.) or underscore (_), the game doesn’t work. Setting the folder as hidden in Windows doesn’t help either.

Is there any other way to hide such folders from appearing in the list? Thanks!

You’ll want to edit the file at MUOS/info/skip.ini and add data* to that list. Doing that will hide specific folder and file names to whatever you like.

Thank you! I found the file. But the folders and ROMs has the same name. How can I hide only folder?

Could you give me an example of what the file and folder structure look like?

Try something like ikaruga/. This is quite a tricky one!

Tried all of em but not worked, folder still showing :thinking:

ikaruga
ikaruga/
ikaruga/*
*/ikaruga
*/ikaruga/*

EDIT: It looks worked! But i have not specified which is worked. checking it rn

Since this is the first time I’ve come across this type of scenario, it might be worth submitting an idea to allow this.

ikaruga worked. It seems it hides the folder when an extension is not specified. Thanks for your support!

Solution for those who will need it later:
If you want to hide a folder in Explorer, you can add the folder name you want to hide as foldername as a line in MUOS/info/skip.ini (in SD1).
