I whole heartedly agree with this sentiment. I haven’t been on a forum in a while since the 2010s. But this forum has a great user interface.

I’ll be occasionally looking at the forums from time to time while at work.

I really enjoy the theme here. A lot of site themes can be hit or miss with me as I have eye floaters and this barely bothers me. 10/10 effort out of the box.

The interface is pretty great. I look forward to seeing what the dev crew comes up with in terms of evolving the site.

Hi Sibes and others!
I’m MrsBongle, or Steph if you wanna be fancy. I work and study in the mental health field and am currently writing a thesis on the moderating effects of perceived control and protection, on the relationship between internet use and subjective wellbeing. :slightly_smiling_face: Working in mental health is a dream and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

I’m involved in muOS because my husband is the head developer. I tried to complete a basic (Java) coding course and failed miserably, so I now stick to managing socials and wrangling XongleBongle. I really love the community aspect though and I occasionally play games on my 40V.

Well silly me didn’t read the second half of your post correctly. MrsB wrangling us back into line as always.

I’m Kirky, I’m fond of a good bit of Aussie banter, but I’m actually in the IT enterprise space and that’s about as much as I can say. I contribute to muOS with (some) good ideas such as this forum! I work on the website, just created the themes website and a bunch of other small things. Mostly I just stir up the Bongles until they come visit my farm. Which yes, I also have property with Horses, goats, chickens etc etc. it’s an interesting and fulfilling life.

Great to see this forum. Never been a huge fan of Discord, the mobile app feels so buggy to me

I’m pretty new to the community, only got my 40XXV about a month ago. muOS makes it so much better though!

I work as a dev for my day job, so will try to contribute small things where I can (@fizwidget on github). Will probably be limited to website & config tweaks though - low level hardware/Linux stuff isn’t my forte.

Discord can be very disadvantageous and unfavorable for many folks. Glad the forum is a better solution for you. I think it’s awesome here.

I agree with all previous sentiments.

Yo,

I’m here because muOS seems to be more appealing for me than the stockOS, and the fact that you can change your theme for a very different one or even a theme you can do yourself… love the themes.

I currently own a RG35xx-SP

I like to pray at night before bed for the bluetooth compatibility with muOS

Toine I have good news for you! we have a bluetooth app

As for me, I’m a software engineer for a big fintech company, and I like to spend my free time tinkering with open source software, and hanging out with my kids.

In the muOS Discord server we have an app for that!

Thanks for inviting me in to the '90s!

I’m a retired video game composer that are not so retired anymore. Was really glad when I got the opportunity to write the Supporters Theme for MuOS Pixie :D. Haven’t released a thing since 2007. If you got any interesting projects going on, maybe we can team up. Cheers!

Hello! Happy to be here  I love to see forums popping up again so were not all relying on discord and other big name services. I’m Zen. I work in IT in my day job. I’m a big nerd and I love to tinker with stuff. I would like to get involved more in open source projects in any way I can. So figured I’d join the forum here. Cheers!

Hello! I prefer muOS over stock for its theming capability and its active Discord community. I am the developer of Aesthetic, a muOS application for creating themes directly on your handheld (I’ll create a dedicated thread soon).

I’m kergoth, a principal software engineer at Siemens working on embedded linux systems not unlike these devices, except my focus is now more in industrial than consumer electronics. In the past I worked for Mentor Graphics (bought out by Siemens), MontaVista, TI, etc. Back when I first got started working on embedded linux devices, I started and maintained a CFW for the Sharp Zaurus PDA called OpenZaurus, and was one of the founders and early maintainers of the OpenEmbedded project (replacing buildroot for openzaurus and others), which went on to become part of the Yocto Project.

I used to do a lot of gaming when I was young, but went away from that for years (with a bit of WOW thrown into the middle) and it was the discovery of retro handhelds, and then later picking up a Steam Deck, that resurrected a desire to play games, along with wanting to play retro games with my young son. He’s a big retro gamer too, finished many of the Mario games over the years.

I only started using muOS in early March when I picked up an RG35XX-SP for myself and another for my son.

I love the customization that muOS allows, and playing with it reminds me of the old days early in my career, brings back some of that fun and playing around with a device feeling. The danger for me is not getting so wrapped up in messing with the devices that I forget to actually play the games. That’s what happened when I played WOW and spent more time writing and hacking on add-ons than playing the thing. I’m also liking the community around muOS.
