I think that adding a “cheatsheet” for all the hotkeys that are exclusively used by muOS in the info tab would be useful in potentially reducing reposts.
Things like screenshot, safe pd and rb as well as just pressing menu on its own for the currently selected items info, all of these I didn’t know\remember until I checked\asked in discord or on the main site.
Not sure if it merits its own thread but being able to modify muOS hotkeys would be nice. (Not sure if there is a way to do so with user inits, if so or if you believe a seperate thread would be appropriate, I will make sure to edit this post)
I think it’s a good idea to have this documented and frequently updated to match along with (hopefully) more hotkeys for apps if there were to ever be a master list somewhere like for Advanced-Drastic and others. I feel like I get lost on these changes when they happen and when you think about it, imagine all the hotkeys you actually use across this CFW - it could be a pretty big task.
It seems that hotkeys keep changing in general and keeping up with that is getting a little mind-boggling speaking for myself as a user. It would be nice if we could find a way to link all these things if possible.
It’d be lovely to have them in one categorized group that we could invoke to everyone in need. Need Retroarch hotkeys? Got it. Need muOS? Got it. Dingus Commander? Drastic? Got it.
I’m primarily saying this because it’s one of the most frequently-asked general questions we still get. We don’t always get notified of a change and/or it could get buried and skipped in a changelog. I’d think it can be a bit overwhelming, especially for new users coming in to the space that aren’t as savvy as others.
It’s a lot faster to source that way as long as it’s easy enough to read.
I was thinking more along the lines of an on-device list in the info or the config tab so you don’t need a fully separate device just because you forgot what one hotkey was.
Plus, doing things that way might lead more people to wanting to customize their hotkeys.
I like this as well if it can be implemented in a manner such that users can draw from it in their minds rather easily as in “Oh, I know where to go for this!” and not as much in a manner that’s making them wonder what to do, because it ties back to the core issues I think we’re having.
If anything, I think we’re complementing each other on our ideas because your idea is also incredibly viable to have.
I’d just like to minimize our bumps in the road in ways that are friendly to the developers here and to the users.
