Ahoy @everyone!

Well there is no secret that Jacaranda has already been out for almost a week now. We decided to do a sneaky silent release this time, just to ease the burden of issues that might creep up. Yep, no release comes without some issues and that is to be expected… somewhat

We are already underway with the 2601.1 update and should be available within the next couple of weeks. If you do find an issue please create a thread in the Issues category, but please check if it has already been submitted and/or fixed first before creating one!

Important - PLEASE READ

  • Please ensure that you have backups of your content
    • MustardOS, and the developers, and contributors, are NOT liable of ANY loss of data through updating or reflashing
  • If reflashing, backup and remove any themes or RetroArch configurations placed on SD2

Release Highlights

Hardware Injection-Based Overlays

  • Zero measurable performance loss
    • Tested for many weeks across various content and emulators!
  • Enables overlays for both SDL and GLES rendered content.
  • Includes on-screen brightness, low-battery, and volume indicators.
  • Works with almost all content, including RetroArch.
  • Due to last minute findings with some content incompatibilities we have disabled it for all PortMaster content

Content Colour Manipulation

  • Globally adjust content colour settings.
  • Overlays are not affected by these.

Content Colour Filters

  • Apply filters per content.
  • Includes fun presets and accessibility filters for colour-blind players.
    • Feedback is especially welcome on the accessibility options!
  • Toxic Waste and Mustard remain top choices.

Frontend Screensaver

  • A mesmerising DVD-bounce-esque screensaver for the frontend.
  • Fully themeable and customisable by theme creators.

Content Sorting Priority

  • Completely rearrange how content is displayed.
  • Prioritise collections, history, or tagged items however you like.
  • Flexible enough to make sense… or chaos… your choice!

Mixed Folder Content

  • Folders no longer have to sit awkwardly at the top.
  • Mix them alphabetically with content. For perfectly valid reasons… probably.

On-Device Community News

  • View MustardOS news articles directly from the device once connected to the internet.
  • Perfect for keeping up with updates and the Game Of The Month.

First Party Activity Tracker

  • See how much time you have wasted invested in playing mahjong arcade games.
  • Detailed per-content stats and a full overview screen.
  • Includes a calculated Play Style profile that reflects how you play.
  • Export stats to HTML for bragging rights or obsessive record-keeping.

RetroArch Configuration Removal

  • Accidentally break something? It happens!
  • Easily remove RetroArch configs on a per-content basis and start fresh direct from content options.

RetroArch Threaded Video

  • RetroArch generally crashes when you toggle Threaded Video while content is running (because reasons).
  • Configurable per content, directory, or core.
