Performance issue with fake08 on RG35XX H - Patch-2

I am not sure why this performance issue is happening. Before anyone asks, I checked the sha256 of the installation image before flashing it using Raspberry Pi Imager. I tried this with two sd cards, including a new SanDisk 32GB card. More details of the problem:

  • Type of device: RG35XX H.
  • Modifications: Patch-2 installed after a fresh installation of version 7c4e6a8f. No modifications to RetroArch settings. fake08 core and performance governor assigned on the Pico-8 folder.
  • Description of issue: Slow/crackling audio and low fps (50 - 55 fps even on performance governor).
  • Steps to replicate the issue: Assign fake08 core to a Pico-8 game or folder, and launch the game.

Honestly Fake-08 isn’t very good. You should buy the official PICO-8.

I will try official PICO-8. Thanks for the suggestion. But, to be fair, fake08 was running fine on beans and banana. Checking the changelog, I see that RetroArch and its cores were updated, so, probably, this is what introduced the problem.
