Pixie installer scrambled screen in time zone selection

Hi! I finally got around to burning Pixie to a fresh SD card using the Pi Imager (following the instructions on the muOS website and discovered the menus are scrambled during the install process (see photo). I backed out with the B button and it seems like the installation finished normally. Maybe something to look into for future releases.

Pixie Graphical Glitches

For some combinations of devices and mSD cards you may be seeing some graphical glitches upon first boot. [20250318_183547] You can press the B button twice to start the initial setup, then go into Configuration to set your timezone and to change date and time from there. Why does this happen? This is due to the quality of mSD card or the flashing process used with Pixie. During the extensive testing period this was “fixed” by sometimes replacing the mSD card with a good known quality card …

Ah ok, thanks for the info. I’m using a SanDisk card always thought that was a reputable brand, but maybe I’m wrong.

I encountered the same bug using a Samsung card flashed with Raspberry Pi Imager.

Hoping that the refactor to a singular frontend module will alleviate these issues.

Well good news is that, yes, the refactor for the frontend has fixed this issue and then some! Still very unsure why this issue occurred with some combinations of devices and mSD cards.

I guess I’ll never know…
