For some reason, games from PortMaster (mostly 2D) are lagging, and I don’t know why.
I’ve noticed something interesting: if I put the console in standby mode and then start it again, the games stop lagging.
Here are some games that have been reported to lag: Shovel Knight, Sonic Mania, Sonic 3 AIR, and SuperTux.
In addition to this post, I have conducted some observations and seem to have discovered the cause of this issue.
The lag problem is most likely related to the CPU frequency.
After a complete shutdown, the frequency ranges from 480 to 1512 MHz, while after sleep mode, it ranges from 480 to 720 MHz.
It’s a good thing that you’re able to set a specific governor for specific content. By pressing SELECT on your port you can change it to performance mode. This will alleviate issues you are having.
