[Release] Itch-io - Indie Games from Itch.io

Itch-io is an unofficial client application for Itch.io which allows you to browse / download free/paid and legal indie games for various emulation systems directly from your device.

Your purchased games (such as from game jams) can be downloaded after entering your personal API key, giving you access to your library.

Releases for muOS can be downloaded by selecting the file with the muxapp extension here: Releases · carroarmato0/NextUI-Itchio-Pak · GitHub

If you have any issues, feel free to create a Github Issue with as much details as possible.

This is amazing, thank you for making it! It looks wonderful and is super easy to use, great way to access the GB games I own on itch. I’d love a way in the app to choose installation locations for games so that I can see them in Explore and have some configurability for them via muos settings, but I get having them centrally managed too for simplicity. Keep up the great work

@eltonlee @kayarelle wait until you see the next version! The founder of Itch.io gave me some pointers and implemented some backend changes to make the app work even better! Just a couple of more tests and I can finally release it  Update notifications and downloading to the archive will be core muOS features together with OAuth authentication.

This is the biggest release so far! I would like to give special thanks to leafo, the founder of Itch.io himself to contribute feedback and make backend changes possible for my app! A lot of optimizations, fixes, and new functionality has been introduced in this release!

  • OAuth! If you have an account on Itch.io, you no longer need to type in your API key, you can easily scan a QR-code and handle the authentication through your phone!
  • Updates! The app supports displaying an update notification, and depending on the support, allows you to pull the update directly on your device! (on muOS it can download the release in the Archive).
  • Robust handling of network, the app is aware of Wifi connectivity and degrades gracefully. All subsystems pause and resume depending on connectivity.
  • Better Game Update: the app uses the Itch.io API instead of checking per game page, and shows you exactly which ROM file has been updated.
  • New Settings menu: it’s a lot more organized!
  • Anbernic H700 fixes
  • Other small fixes
