Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with bios files and can’t figure out what to do.
I am running 2601.1 Funky Jacaranda* on a RG34XX - H. I have a 2 card set up, with MuOS on SD1 (internal) and everything else on SD2 (external).
Despite adding bios files to SD2, GBA games launched without a GBA splash screen. I checked mGBA core settings and Retroarch said it was looking for files in /run/muos/storage/bios but the files were missing. This kind of makes sense, since I don’t see a run nor a storage directory when I plug the SD cards into my computer.
A few things I’ve done as troublshooting before opening this topic:
Added the same bios files to SD1 > still undetected
Checked that the bios file name matches what Retroarch is looking for (gba_bios.bin)
Synced SD cards through the Storage Options submenu
Mounted external SD card > got told it was already mounted
Tried with a different bios file
Reinstalled the OS
Updated the OS update from 2601.0 to 2601.1 > after doing this, MuOs didn’t detect SD2 and wouldn’t let me mount it either
Rebooted the system > solved the small issue I had with SD2
I don’t know what else to try. If anyone is able to help or point me in the right direction, that would be wonderful. Thank you in advance!
Bios files should go in /muos/bios
On sd1 or sd2
If a /muos/bios folder is present on sd2, /run/muos/storage/bios will read from that folder, if not, it will read from sd1.
If you have a valid and named correctly gba bios on /muos/bios it will be detected without issues.
Thanks so much for the reply! Apologies for not making a few details clearer.
The bios files are correctly named and I placed them within the /muos/bios folders, both in SD1 and SD2. That’s exactly why I can’t figure out where the issue is coming from.
After noticing that bios files weren’t detected when placed in SD2, I placed them in SD1. Nothing happened once again, so I tried did some troubleshooting as indicated above but had no luck.
There’s really nothing else for the bios to work.
When you launch a gba game, open the quick menu, get back to retroarch’s main menu, go to information, core information, what does it says about the bios files?
And in the quick menu>core options>system you need Use bios file if found= ON and Skip Bios Intro = Off for the gba bios screen to show up on boot.
