Retroarch settings not saving

When I go into Tools→Retroarch, I make changes such as the Scale Factor, Color theme and then go back to the Main Menu→Configuration File and then save current configuration. I get a message saying the file was saved. However, when I close Retroarch and reload back in none of the changes save.

I’ve seen it work in video tutorials, so I don’t think I’m doing it wrong, but nothing is saving. I even reinstalled the OS fresh again and that still didn’t help.

My RetroArch configuration is being repressed

Due to the amount of issues in the past relating to people changing goodness knows what in their global configuration we have opted to freeze it. This is awesome to know! I wanted to make simple changes overall like retroarch hotkeys, and themes. (Whats the point of themes if I can’t even save one to be the default) I was going to make all other changes at the core level depending on the system I’m playing on so that way I don’t “break things”.
