My brand new RG34H won’t install Mu
I’m assuming hardware shenanigans; I’m aware of the SP screen revisions that might be affecting this.
To clarify, there’s nothing wrong with the card; I installed Modded Stock on it without problem. It’s not that it won’t boot; I can’t get the initial install to run at all - it’s like there’s no card in it when I try.
Is there a patch I can chase, or am I just locked out until the next release?
most likely you will need to wait for next release
Same here, I got 2 34xx
Purple one is day1 purchase install with latest muOS no problem.
Last week I buy Glacier one for my collection, but this new one muOS not boot up at all.
Seem like Anbernic change something in new lot (RAM maybe) so that is why muOS not boot.
Hope they fix in next release
Damn… Do we have any idea of when the next update will be released and if these new changes are covered?
I’ve used Mu on my partner’s RG35 PLUS, and now being downgraded to StockOS, I am really missing the polish that Mu brings. It’s not even the big things; I think I’m missing the cleaner hotkeys the most… Stock is so clunky…
Good to know it’s not just me then
I also recently got a glacier horizontal and it’s not even showing a green light
If it’s not showing a green light, this is a separate issue from the different display manufacturer anbernic is using.
This is very likely FEL mode or not enough current.
To fix this, press the reset button a few times and then plug into a charger that makes the led go orange and then try booting.
I think something may be up with at least the RG34XX H image… the downloaded .img file returns an error when trying to flash to any card I have.
It’s definitely doing something weird, because every time I try to install Mu - I’ve tried 2601.1, 2601.0 and 2508.4 - I have to use that reset button trick to get my Anbernic to boot using the stockOS. I initially thought I had killed it, since it became so unresponsive…
Just tried booting while plugged in, and no difference. It is completely unresponsive: no power light, no screen flicker, not even a speaker pop. And after that, it wouldn’t boot into stock until I pressed the reset a few times.
interestingly, the 34xxSP image works, even on my 34xxH (although the sleep doesn’t natively work, because it thinks it’s an SP with a lid, heh)
When you try to boot to a system that is not compatible with your device revision, it gets stuck in FEL mode, a half on, but not booted to anything, state.
You won’t be able to boot the device from that state, that’s why you need to press reset, cause it cuts power to the cpu, allowing it to start fresh and the device to boot again.
