RG35XX Plus Black Screen After Boot HDMI Trigger Issue

Hi all I have been using my RG35xx plus for about a year MUOS has been great, but I did the mistake of not changing the SD from the funky fake one that came with it to a new original SD card.

Anyways, that SD became corrupt, lost my Saves(which i don’t care about). Now that i have a new sd card, I downloaded the latest MUOS on it, it boots, and allows me to choose language and everything but once the setup finishes it boots to the OS, yet somehow the screen is off but the LED is green.

I suspected its the HDMI mode being triggered, but i cannot confirm via an hdmi cable (i don’t have it and i don’t want to buy it unless i am sure the damn thing is working). I’ve tried multiple solutions including reflashing different OS on the new SD(Stock, muos, minios, knulli) yet all of them seem to get the same issue.

If there is any software solution to this issue, i will be grateful for your help. I am also thinking of buying another handheld to replace this if it doesn’t get fixed.

Btw, I tried resetting, re-connecting the battery and all basic troubleshooting.

Thanks in advance

I’ll link to a topic from a user with a similar issue.
Xongle provided a way to make the device always use the handheld screen, so do the first install of the system, then use the safe shutdown shortcut and move the script xongle provided to always boot to the internal screen.
This script is from and older version of muOS, but checking it it should still work.

Hi thanks for the help, I did check this solution previously, and tried it it did reboot the system but never worked, the screen went back to black. :frowning:

This was yesterday anyways, I did buy mini HDMI to HDMI cable, and it did arrive today.

I plugged the RG to the TV using the HDMI and it finally worked. It was like magic or something, or maybe ANBERNIC wanted me to spend an extra 5 bucks for a mini HDMI cable so that my device becomes worthy.

Thanks again for your help it was really appreciated. And I hope you have a good weekend.

PS: for anyone facing the same issue in the future, just put the OOPS.sh script in the home folder of the sd card, if that doesn’t work you may need to plug a mini HDMI Cable to your device, then connect it with a monitor. Hope this helps
