RG35XXPro Not Booting with MUOS

Hello, I’m completely new to the emulator handheld scene. I bought my first one, an RG 35XXPro.

On the recommendation of a friend I tried to install mustard OS, but after following the guide to set it up over at Install Guide | MustardOS , I put the SD card in, press the power button and….nothing. The power light doesn’t come on. I’ve tried waiting a few minutes but no luck.

The file I used was [MustardOS_RG35XX-PRO_2508.4_LOOSE_GOOSE-a55cdbe8.img.gz](javascript:void(0);). I hope this is the right one?

Sounds like FEL mode, which happens when the device attempts to boot without an SD card in, or when the SD card has been taken out too quickly after being shutdown, before the device has fully unmounted the SD card. Be careful not to press the power button accidentally when there is no SD card inserted.

To fix this, put the muOS SD card in and press reset a few times, and then attempt to boot by pressing the power button. Usually this is enough to bring the device out of FEL mode.

If that doesn’t work, then disconnecting the battery usually does the trick.

Also, which software did you use to flash the SD card, and which brand and size is the SD card?

Sorry to butt in but I am having the same issue, tried using the no-name 64GB sd card that came with my rg35xxpro and a kingston 32gb card and neither worked.

If it helps any the latest knulli release did not work with either card as well, however reflashing the 64GB card with the stock os worked again and the 32GB card booted up with a modified stock os I found on google.

I tried using the reset button trick and waiting a couple minutes after fully shutting down the stock os to no avail as well.

Sadly I’m having the same issue.

I recieved a new rg35xxpro yesterday. I flashed a Sandisk extreme 128GB with MuOS(MustardOS_RG35XX-PRO_2508.4_LOOSE_GOOSE-a55cdbe8.img.gz). Nothing happens when I press the power button. Flashing using Rufus.

I have tried the following to resolve:

  • Put original Card in- Boots good.
  • Did a checksum on the download- match.
  • Did a reflash- same problem trying to boot.
  • Flashed an older 16GB ssd I had lying around- Same problem trying to boot.
  • Tried all manner of reset, power cable connect, power on combos- nothing.
  • Tried Knulli- Same problem.
  • Tried Modified stock OS on same Sandisk- boots good.

Seems like maybe there is some incompabilitiy with newer 35xxpros and both MuOS and Knulli!?

Happy to help with troubleshooting if required.

Sorry for going quiet for a while. The device ended up not charging or being able to boot at all with any card in it, so I ended up returning it and getting a replacement. Buuuut now I’m trying the same thing with this machine and while the original stock OS SD card is working fine I’m getting the exact same result with MuOS and Knulli. I try to turn the device on after flashing the card and the screen just stays completely blank.

It’s a Sandisk 64GB SD card I’m using, brand new.

Hello everyone, I bought an rg35xx pro a few weeks ago and went crazy with the same problem, Anbernic has done a hardware review, so the images of muos and knulli published do not work. Knulli has solved it with a hotfix published in his discord (the github does not work) I just installed it and it works!! I hope MuOS takes out a solution or a patch

I have the same problem. I bought the RG35XX PRO like 1 week ago.
Only stock and MOD Stock work, I’ve tried knulli from Github didn’t work either. I will try the with the Discord version, let’s see.

Yeah this is likely due to silent hardware revisions that anbernic makes based on the cheapest hardware available at time of manufacture of each batch. Best option is to wait until a new version of muos is released that supports these hardware changes.
