I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to this new version. I was struggling to install version 2.2.1 on muOS Canada Goose, but I couldn’t get it to work. I installed this new version, and everything seems to be working correctly now.
Hey, May I know what platforms did u scrape using this? Got any errors while scraping?
Hello! Thank you for your job!
Is it possible to update skyscraper version? Maybe someone know how can I do it myself?
@sahil, you might want to take a look at this PR: Fix run path to use user storage preference for apps by TheWalruzz · Pull Request #56 · gabrielfvale/scrappy
Basically, due to an omission in earlier muOS versions, apps always extracted to SD1 instead of user preferred storage (e.g. SD2). I made a PR for original Scrappy repo that fixes that, but you might want to include those changes in your fork, so users won’t be surprised after updating to Silly Goose.
Hey, Thanks for the update. I’m not sure if i figured it out properly so can u please check changes in the last commit. I have updated scrappy to v3.0.12 which requires full pkg install. I have only one sd card setup so I can’t check if everything works now on silly goose. Thankyou again for your help.
Just some info for other people here: This new update will require people who have set the storage preference for applications to SD2 to use the full install package and move their configs (and templates etc.) to the new installation on SD2. People who don’t use a second SD card or have their storage preference for apps set to SD1 won’t have to make any changes and should be able to update it normally via app.
Also the skyscraper binary updated which require full pkg install…
So that’s even a better timing for such radical changes to the app! ![]()
Exactly lol. This update gave me so much information… I learnt how to update aarch64 binaries on x86-64 systems.
@sahil
Just tested the full flow, from installation to scraping, and this version works perfectly. Now I can keep Scrappy with its full configuration intact in between reflashes AND have in-app updates!
That’s great! Are u using 2 card setup?
I’m using the latest version and there’s a template called box3d-full-splash-preview, but it’s for the left. Would it be possible to edit the template to be used on the right?
Yes u can edit xml easily by going to templates folder inside scrappy. U can also take help from gpt to achieve this.
Also try just setting Configuration -> Customisation -> Content Box Art Alignment
I forgot about that option. I’ll try that too. Thanks ![]()
Yes, that’s why this update was so important to me
Well, thanks to you for making the pr.. and fixing the issue hehe
Hello, thank you for your great work. After recently receiving my RG40xxh, I got here step by step after installing Silly Goose and then your branch of Scrappy in v3.0.12, but I can’t figure out why my Fluent Dark theme (I’ve tried others too) doesn’t display the box art images that are stored in the catalog on my SD1 (OS) and found by Scrappy for my games on SD2 (Content). What am I overlooking? The text is displayed, even the splash screen appears, but there is no box art to be seen. Neither for my DOS games (saved as *.dosz) nor for my gb files.
You’re probably talking about a bug in the Silly Goose. There’s a small patch made by xongle that fixes it, you can find it on Discord in the pinned section of general channel.
Thank you very much, OK, my mistake, I should have looked in a different direction. I found this patch here and installed the archive. Everything is fine now.
