It would be nice if there was a convenient way to know if your files are properly synced between devices on muOS.
Sometimes it might take a while for Syncthing to start to sync, and this might lead you to start a game before receiving your saves from another device, or shutting down a device before sending the updated data to another.
My idea is an optional “wait for sync” feature that would run on startup (it would only be visible if you had Syncthing enabled, of course), users would see a message on the boot logo screen with an option to press a specific button to trigger a ‘wait for sync’ state, then you’d only continue to the main menu after a successful sync, or in case you cancelled the action. Users would only have to use this in case they needed to receive a save from another device.
Now for turning the device off, you’d see a new “Wait for sync and shutdown” option on the main menu, this way you could be at peace knowing that you could continue your game on another device later without having to double check.
These two small additions would make it much easier to avoid data loss or confusion across devices, while keeping the feature optional and unobtrusive for users who don’t need it.
