Testing Multiple Theme Resolutions With Single Device

You have two options for testing multiple theme resolutions with a single device.

Console Mode

  • Navigate to Configuration -> General Settings -> HDMI Output
  • Set Resolution to 720p _ 60Hz
  • Set the Theme Resolution option to the resolution you want to test.
  • Plug in HDMI cable and reboot the device

TV will display the theme with the selected resolution. If you want to change theme resolution you can navigate back to Configuration -> General Settings -> HDMI Output and adjust the Theme Resolution. The theme resolution will update when you press B to save, no need to reboot.

On Device

You can test different resolutions on the device as well. muOS will auto select the resolution based on the {Resolution} folders available in the theme. To force muOS to select a specific resolution rename all the resolution folders except the one you want to test. For example if you want to test 720x720 you can rename your folders like this:

/muos/theme/active/_640x480/
/muos/theme/active/_720x480/
/muos/theme/active/720x720/
/muos/theme/active/_1280x720/

This will force it to display the 720x720 resolution on your device and will scale it to fit your devices screen regardless of your devices screen resolution.
