Upgrade from Pixie to Funky and not loading

I upgraded from Pixie to Funky Jacaranda. My gpSP saves are in saves/gpSP/ but FireRed won’t read them. What is the exact correct folder path for gpSP .srm and .state files on Funky Jacaranda?

The default core for gba is mGBA, if you haven’t manually assigned the gpSP core to your gba folder it will be using the default, and it won’t see the saves on the gpSP save folder.

You can assign the gpSP core by pressing X over any game on your gba folder, going to core, nintendo game boy advance, then selecting gpSP(with X for the whole folder, or A just for this game).

Alternatively you can copy your save to /muos/saves/mGBA and it should work for the mGBA core too, but gpSP has better performance overall.

Thank you for your response. Yes, the core is set to gpSP I feel like I have done everything correct, but I’m running into a wall.

Probably just a misplaced file.
By default, it will look in /muos/save/file/gpSP for your cartridge save(.srm), and /muos/save/state/gpSP for your save states (.state)
Save states may be incompatible between core updates, but save files will work just fine.

If you have two sd cards, double check if you have saves set to sd1 or sd2 in the storage options, and move your saves do the /muos/save folder on the card selected.

Double check that your rom and save have the same exact name.

I have it set up just like that. I do have two SD cards - SD1 has only MUOS, and SD2 has everything else.

What you can try is making a new save file and then finding it though the file manager (should be in muos/save), and then replacing this file with your older save, ensuring they are the same format (.srm or .sav respectively) and that the names match exactly

You can also try converting the save game if needed.
