Use 59.94 Hz screen timings, which is the NTSC format standard (used by games). It works very well with all panels and doesn’t affect the 355608-A9 panels with horizontal lines. It also doesn’t add any stuttering to the images; on the contrary, since it’s the NTSC standard, it will sync with most games. Note: It is used by Knulli with great success.
It isn’t used by all games.
This statement is patently incorrect.
For example.
Any PAL game doesn’t.
Literally any console that isn’t outputting to an NTSC display doesn’t.
Yes, correct, but 59.98 doesn’t either, and have a compatibility disadvantage.
This isn’t true since you will experience dropped frames more often when playing 60 FPS content such as GBA as the screen timing strays further from 60.
If you prefer a different refresh rate, or there are issues with your specific hardware revision, there are instructions on how you can change the screen timing in the thread that @xonglebongle linked above.
Changing the screen timing for everyone will have detrimental effects, unfortunately, and will become a cat and mouse game as anbernic constantly make undocumented hardware changes depending on where the cheapest source of each component is.
