Managed to flip the main menu to work with a vertical mounted screen
I’ve created a script that would install this feature and you could adjust the rotation and size from one simple location “hdmi_cabinet”
I display a brief view in this view.
I have not tested Roms just yet (I was so excited I forgot to add some 
) but at least now we can control orientation and size
